{"id":165661,"date":"2023-01-09T15:13:22","date_gmt":"2023-01-09T23:13:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.canyon-news.com\/?p=165661"},"modified":"2023-01-10T09:00:33","modified_gmt":"2023-01-10T17:00:33","slug":"laurel-canyon-boulevard-closed-for-storm-repairs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.canyon-news.com\/laurel-canyon-boulevard-closed-for-storm-repairs\/","title":{"rendered":"Laurel Canyon Boulevard Closed For Storm Repairs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAUREL CANYON\u2014<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Officials from the Los Angles Department of Transportation announced on Sunday, January 8, that Mulholland Drive between Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Coldwater Canyon Drive will remain closed until further notice.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This closure was initiated to allow work crews to determine what repairs need to be done to the roads that were damaged by recent storm activity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to reports, heavy rain and wind will affect the department from completing repairs sooner.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drivers are asked to avoid the area at this time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On January 4, the LADOT announced they would close Laurel Canyon Boulevard to prepare for possible flooding and debris flow. Roads were closed northbound starting from Hollywood Boulevard to Mullholland Drive.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On January 5, the storm caused a portion of earth underneath the road to collapse causing a road closure over the weekend. Engineers and geologists were sent out to Mullholland Drive to assess the issue.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the same location on January 6, crews disabled a power pole that was on the verge of falling over the edge of a hillside. The pole was removed from the side of the road.
