STUDIO CITY—On Tuesday, September 16, the Los Angeles Police Department reported a suspect was arrested for a West Los Angeles homicide.

The LAPD reported on September 12, at around 6:13 a.m., West Los Angeles Area patrol officers responded to a radio call to meet with Los Angeles Fire Department personnel in the 10300 block of Bellwood Avenue. The Fire Department had responded to an apartment fire.

Inside the apartment, personnel located a female who suffered burns from the fire and observed injuries consistent with stab wounds. The female was transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The name of the victim and age has not yet been disclosed to the public.

Detectives from the West Bureau Homicide Unit responded and assumed investigative responsibility in the case. A suspect was identified during the investigation. With the help of the FBI/LAPD Fugitive Task Force and the California Highway Patrol, the suspect was arrested in Lebec, California at approximately 8 p.m. on September 12.

The suspect has been identified as Willian Santos, 33. He was booked for murder under booking number 7090666. His bail was set at $2 million. The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
