The trespasser tried to run from authorities before he was captured and detained. Bell and Shepard were not home at the time of the incident. Video from the Citizen App displayed the individual being detained by officers. No homes were broken into in the neighborhood at the time of the incident.

Last week the home of Jolie’s former husband, Brad Pitt was broken into in Los Feliz. The actor was in Tokyo, Japan at the time of the incident. Pitt’s home was broken into on June 25.

Details on what was stolen from Pitt’s property has not been disclosed to the public. The intruders smashed a window to gain access into the actor’s home. According to the Daily Mail, there has been more security detail at Pitt’s home since the incident.

Jolie previously appeared in the movie “Maria.” Pitt is currently appearing in the action-flick “F1: The Movie” alongside Damson Idris. Pitt won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the Quentin Tarantino film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.”

The incident was reported at 1:38 a.m. at 1826 N Western Avenue. Officials arrived to find one vehicle crashed into a two-story apartment building with a total of three patients.

Two patients were trapped under the vehicle (in the apartment unit) and required extrication: approximately a 50-year-old male patient was determined deceased on scene, 9-year-old male patient transported in serious condition. The name of the victim has not yet been disclosed to the public.

A 34-year-old female patient (driver) was transported with minor injuries. There are a total of seven displaced occupants. Red Cross and Mayor’s Crisis Response Team notified to provide help.

LA Dept of Building and Safety will determine whether the building is safe for occupation. No further details about the incident or the cause has been disclosed to the public.

LAFD Ground and Air responded to a 24-year-old female hiker in fair condition with a fractured ankle. The hiker was hoisted aboard a hovering LAFD helicopter.

They were transported to receive in-flight care during direct transport to regional trauma center for injuries sustained. No additional details about the incident were disclosed to the public.

The LAPD reported on January 31, around 5:20 p.m., the suspect entered a retail store in the 600 block of North Dillon Street in the Silver Lake area near Los Feliz. The suspect removed over $700 in merchandise and exited the business without paying. Rampart area officers arrested the suspect in the parking lot without incident.

Target Asset Protection employees advised detectives that the suspect stole approximately $31,872.48 worth of merchandise over a 7-month period.

The suspect was identified as Brandon Krause, 34, of Los Angeles. He was booked for 487(a) PC: Grand Theft under booking number 6752035 with $35,500 bail.

On Thursday, May 18, three vehicles and a detached garage were set ablaze behind a residence at 2030 North Edgemont Street. Firefighters with the Los Angeles Fire Department fully extinguished the flames and found an adult male body – later identified as Loo – inside one of the vehicles, the LAFD reported. 

At around 1:12 p.m., LAFD responded to three vehicles on fire next to a two-story structure behind a residence near Ambrose Avenue. By 1:30 p.m., 46 firefighters were called to the scene to battle intense flames that extended from the vehicles to the adjacent two-story structure behind the main house. LAFD firefighters took 52 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish the flames threatening the main house and other properties, the LAFD indicated.

“It [was] a detached garage with living quarters on top of it – or a shop of some kind – which had three vehicles parked in front of it that seemed to be on fire which extended to the structure itself and got into the attic,” an LAFD investigator told ABC 7 news. “The firefighters were able to start working on the structure, extinguish the vehicles and keep the fire confined to the original building.” 

Firefighters extinguished the blaze before it could affect the main house, as well as surrounding properties. No other injuries were reported. 

The Los Angeles City Coroner’s Office is still investigating Loo’s cause of death.

At 8:34 p.m., LAPD responded to a call that a suspect – described as a White male with black hair, brown eyes, around five foot eight inches, 150 pounds and with tattoos on his face and neck  – brandished a handgun inside the market and stole an unknown amount of merchandise. The suspect allegedly has a snake tattoo on his neck and a swastika tattoo on his cheekbone, Citizen app reported. 

The suspect was last seen heading northbound on Hillhurst Avenue, Officer Moore said. No injuries were reported. 

Canyon News spoke with an Albertson’s store associate who declined to comment.

During Pitt’s career he has won two academy awards. The first Oscar was in 2014 for the film “12 Years a Slave” where he served as a producer. Pitt, 59. purchased the property in 1994. The home is 6700 square feet and the property sits on 1.9 acres of land. The home was built in 1915. Amenities include a tennis court, a swimming pool and a skate park. Six bedrooms occupy the main home. Four adjacent properties were purchased by Pitt in the years since he first purchased the home.

Stephen Weeks, the owner of the pony ride attracted has reported that the animals did not die of abuse, but of illness, and old age.

Week’s defended himself and the care of the animals.  He told Inside Edition that,

“The last thing I want to do is when I have a sick pony, I don’t want to call the City of LA, I want to call my vet out here 24 hours at night if necessary. According to reports, Weeks is currently in the process of rehoming the ponies.

Canyon News spoke to Fahim who reported she had first-hand knowledge of the abuse and the deaths of the ponies. and spoke of algae in their drinking water. 

Fahim provided video footage of the ponies in extreme temperatures, kicking up dust on carriage rides, and giving little children rides on a turnstile they were chained to. The footage is posted on Fahim’s personal Facebook page.

Fahim provided pictures of the ponies the Alliance for Animals had been fighting to protect.

A recent report from the City of Los Angeles veterinarian mentioned that 4 elderly ponies died this year, two in March, one in April, and one in August.

Canyon News reached out to the number on the Griffith Park website for the Pony Ride attraction, but the voicemail was full.  A statement could not be obtained by the National Park Service in time for print.

“The defendant relied on his Hollywood credentials to lure young women for photo shoots where he allegedly sexually assaulted them,” said District Attorney George Gascón. “Power and influence can corrupt some to hurt others that often leads to a lifetime of trauma for those who are victimized.

My office’s Bureau of Victim Services is here to help in the healing process to ensure all victims have the guidance and support they need on the road to recovery.”

He was charged in case BA509407 with six counts of sexual penetration by use of force, four counts of oral copulation, three counts of forcible rape, two counts of sexual battery by restraint and one count each of assault by means of force likely to cause great bodily injury, attempted sexual penetration by use of force and false imprisonment by violence.

Weinberg was released from police custody after posting a $5 million bond. His previous bail was set at $3.22 million. He is expected to be arraigned on October 25 in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center. The case was filed for warrant on September 30.

Authorities reported on two separate occasions in 2014, Weinberg approached two women at public locations and told them he was a photographer. During each encounter, he was communication with the victims who went to his home where he is accused of sexually assaulting them.

In 2017, he used the same tactic to bring a young woman back to his house where he allegedly sexually assaulted her. Weinberg also is accused of sexually assaulting two women in separate incidents in 2018 and 2019.

He is known for writing credits for the TV comedies “Scrubs,” “Veronica’s Closet,” “Californication” and “American Dad.” He was nominated for 5 Primetime Emmy Awards during his career and has served as a producer as well.

Weinberg was arrested on July 14, 2022 around 12 p.m. at a residence in the 1900 block of East Edgemont Street. Since his arrest, dozens of additional potential victims have contacted law enforcement. He targeted women in grocery stores, coffee shops, and other public places. Weinberg would approach the women who were in their 20-30s,

Each incident will be thoroughly investigated and reviewed for additional charging, the LADA Office indicated. The arrest took place around 12 p.m. on the 1900 block of East Edgem Street. 

According to a news release issued by the Los Angeles Police Department, Weinberg targeted women in coffee shops and grocery stores who appeared to be in their 20s and 30s. He posed as a photographer and would arrange photoshoots with the women he targeted. The photoshoots which took place in his home is where the assaults were said to have transpired. 

Detectives suspect there are more victims and are asking them to come forward. Officials believe that Weinberg may have committed these crimes as far back as the 1990’s. Victims or anyone with more information on this case can call (323) 561-3272 to speak to a detective assigned to this matter. Weinberg is currently in jail and his bail was set at $3,225,000.

At 8:35 p.m., the LAPD reported that they are searching for a missing boy who was last seen around 6:32 p.m. 

He is described as a Caucasian male, standing 4 feet and 5 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, navy-colored pants, navy-colored socks and a navy-colored jacket.  

According to LAPD, the boy is known to frequent Echo Park and “places with water.”  No photos or further identification of this missing person are available at this time. Anyone with information about the teen’s whereabouts is asked to contact the LAPD.

The victim was said to have been hit by more than one vehicle and was found on the center divider north of Los Feliz Boulevard. When authorities arrived, they closed off the first and second lanes of the freeway to complete their investigation that ended around 8:45 a.m. 

The name of the victim and details surrounding the cause of accident have not been disclosed to the public.

According to an LAFD alert, at around 2:43 p.m. on Tuesday, firefighters “responded by ground and air to an approximately 50’ X 100’ area of brush on fire,” south of Griffith Observatory near the Boy Scout Trail. By 3:25 p.m, the fire grew across 4 acres and the response team changed its status to a “Major Emergency” brush fire.

Griffith Observatory was evacuated and Park Rangers assisted in keeping hikers from entering the surrounding hiking trails. 

By 3:55 p.m, the brush fire was “contained.” Six acres had burned and 92 firefighters were on the scene battling to contain the remaining brush fire.

No homes were evacuated. No injuries were reported. 

A “person of interest” who was “in the general area of the incident” was detained for questioning, LAFD released in a statement.  

LAPD Officer Hernandez confirmed it was a male “person of interest” but had no further information about the cause of the fire, or if the male was considered a suspect.

The cause of the fire is under active investigation by LAPD and LAFD’s Arson Investigators.

Homeowner, Sarah Dubog was outside to clean her pond when she spotted P-22. Dubog made eye-contact with the animal who kept drinking from the pond. The mountain lion left 20 minutes later to head back into the hills. 

This is the second time in the past week that P-22 has been spotted at a Los Angeles residence, ABC7 reported. On Wednesday, April 6, P-22 was captured on home-security footage, walking past the front door of a Hollywood Hills residence. The homeowner, Kevin Prince, says this is the fourth time in the past year that he’s spotted the wildcat roaming around his property.

Prince originally set up motion cameras to help prove that it was P-22 who was infiltrating his home, ABC7 reported. 

“I’m from New York. I am used to pizza rat. I am not used to lions at my front door,” Prince told ABC7. “I’m from the concrete jungle, moving to the literal jungle. This place is crazy,” Prince added.  

Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area biologists have been radio-tracking P-22 (or Puma 22) since they discovered him in Griffith Park back in April 2012.

SMMNRA biologists captured and fitted P-22 with a GPS collar, and recorded measurements and collected blood tissue samples before releasing him back to where he was captured. Those samples were later tested by UCLA and UC Davis and revealed that P-22 was most likely born in the Santa Monica Mountains. He walked 50 miles and would have had to cross both the 405 and 101 Freeways to make it to Griffith Park, National Park Service officials said.

He became a viral sensation after wildlife photographer, Steve Winter, captured a photo of him roaming Griffith Park in front of the Hollywood Sign, which was featured in the December 2013 issue of National Geographic.

P-22 has made his home in Griffith Park and surrounding areas for a decade now, despite what SMMNRA scientists believed he would do. Mountain lions require around 250 square miles of “home ranges,” which is much bigger than what Griffith Park offers – scientists believed he would have left the area a long time ago. 

“It’s a testament to the health of the natural systems in the L.A. area, including Griffith Park, that the full complement of wildlife can persist here,” Wildlife Ecologist Seth Riley once said.

Mountain lion sightings are an extremely rare occurrence, however P-22 has been spotted countless times in residential areas. Back in April 2014, Canyon News reported that the wildcat was found under a crawlspace of a Los Feliz home. On Friday, April 8 2022, Santa Monica Mountain officials tracked P-22 in Silverlake, the furthest south he’s ever trekked since living in Griffith Park.

P-22 was also the suspect to have slain a female koala named Killarney of the Los Angeles Zoo back in 2016.

According to National Park Service officials, P-22 is reportedly 12-years-old now, which is nearing the end of the average lifespan for cougars. Despite this, he appears to be alive and well.
