The shooting was reported to the Los Angeles Police Department at approximately 2 a.m. in the 7800 block of Fareholm Drive. Law enforcement arrived to find the victim, who was later identified as 39-year-old Emil Lahaziel, who was suffering multiple gunshot wounds outside a residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lahaziel was reportedly attending a poker game at the property when he stepped outside and engaged in an argument with the suspect. The suspect produced a weapon and opened fire on Lahaziel.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing as the shooting suspect, who fled the scene in an unknown vehicle, is still yet to be identified and apprehended.

Investigators are searching for additional video footage in the area. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the LAPD at 1-877-275-5273.

The rapper who was featured on Justin Bieber’s “Baby” joined the “Fast And Furious” franchise as Tej Parker in “2 Fast 2 Furious” in 2003. “Fast X” was released on Friday, May 19, marking the actor’s seventh appearance in the franchise.

He was also featured in “No Strings Attached” starring Aston Kutcher and Guy Richie’s “RocknRolla,” as well as the Best Picture Oscar-winner, “Crash.”

“You burst on the rap scene 25 years ago, Look at you now. You’re multi-hyphenate. An icon, a rap superstar, A-list actor, business mogul,” rapper and “Hawaii Five O” actor LL Cool J said of Ludacris at the ceremony.

“I could take two lifetimes explaining to the world the significance, your significance both to the world and to my family,” said actor Vin Diesel at the ceremony.

His daughter Karma Bridges made a surprise appearance at the ceremony.

“After receiving your text on Thursday, asking if I could make it to L.A. for your Hollywood star — it took everything in me to come up with an excuse of why I couldn’t make it here today, The truth is, I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” said Karma while speaking on behalf of her father.

The lawsuit was filed in the state of Texas on Monday, April 10. The suit accuses Netflix of misappropriating the plaintiff’s likeness by using a photo of him holding a hatchet. Hazelwood has no relation to the documentary or the case it explores. He is seeking at least $1 million in damages. 

In the suit, the following statement can be found: “Hazlewood is, of course, beyond angry that Netflix would implicate and connect him to such a salacious and infamous story and individual.”

Hazlewood hopes to vindicate himself to those who have asked him about his inclusion in the documentary and those who may recognize his image, but have not felt comfortable enough to inquire about it. His attorney Angela Buchanan told The Post Monday, April 17, that this exposure will go on for the rest of his life.

He is also suing Netflix over the documentary, claiming that the company is “ruthlessly exploiting a hero’s life story for money,” according to the Fresno Bee. 

Hazelwood is a 27 year-old respiratory therapist from Kentucky. In June 2019, he posted an image of himself holding a hatchet. According to The Post, Hazelwood posted the image connecting it to his favorite childhood story “Hatchet” written by Gary Paulsen. The photo went unnoticed for some time until it appeared in the Netflix documentary. 

In the documentary, the narrator describes a “stone-cold killer” as Hazelwood’s image appears on the screen. A text appears that reads, “you can’t trust anyone” next to the plaintiff’s image. 

“The Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker” explores the case of Caleb Lawrence McGillvary who became famous by appearing in a viral video. In the video, he recounted a crime he witnessed while hitchhiking. As a result of the viral nature of the original video, McGillvary received extensive offers from various news and entertainment sources seeking interviews and appearances. This resulted in him appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on February 11, 2013. By 2019, he was found guilty of the murder of Joseph Galfy and is currently serving 57 years in prison.

In response to the newly released documentary, McGillvary claimed that Netflix exploited him for profit.

The show follows the clients and agents within Mauricio Umansky’s real estate agency “The Agency” in Beverly Hills. The Agency are co-defendants in the suit.

Umansky is married to former “Days Of Our Lives” actress and reality TV personality Kyle Richards. The couple has three children together.

Eight episodes of the show are available on Netflix. Running time for each episode is between 40-48 minutes. Netflix have yet to confirm if the show will run for second season.

Aharon Dihno, 60, his two minor children and his partner are the plaintiffs in the suit. The suit alleges footage that could only have been captured by a drone shows the interior and exterior of the home.

The suit also claims the advertisement caused unwanted sightseers to visit the home, harassing phone calls from real estate agents and this compromised their privacy and safety.

Mauricio Umansky has previously appeared on reality shows “Entertainment Tonight” and “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles.”

His wife Kyle Richards has appeared on 9 season of the reality show “The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills” since 2010. Umansky was featured in a number of episodes from 2012-2015.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, she got into a confrontation with two men in their 30s outside of a nightclub. When she left the club and began walking towards her vehicle, a shooting ensued. She was shot from an unidentified vehicle driven by the suspects.

Officers with the LAPD Hollywood Division discovered her on Cherokee Avenue between Hollywood Boulevard and Selma Avenue. 

She was transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition.

The event features Hollywood’s original 1,500 pipe Wurlitzer organ which dates back to 1928, when it resided on the Fox Studios lot. The organ was used in classic film scores including “The Sound of Music,” “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” “Patton” and others. The program will feature seven silent films performed by the USC Trojan Chamber Orchestra along with a special 100th anniversary presentation of silent film star Harold Lloyd’s “Safety Last.” Lloyd’s granddaughter, Suzanne Lloyd will be hosting the event and the award-winning conductor Angel Velez will be conducting the orchestra.  

The concert brings together a group of highly acclaimed film and visual media composers to “help reimagine new scores to classic silent films.” 

The films being featured are:  

“Robin Hood” – original music by Emilie Bernstein (Landis: Just Watch Me, Prisoner of the Prophet)

“Why Worry?” – original music by Jeff Cardoni (Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off, Me Time)

“Metropolis” – original music by Jesse Carmichael (Maroon 5, Thrive)

“The Lost World”- original music by Sherri Chung (Kung Fu, Riverdale)

“Faust” – original music by Chanda Dancy (Devotion, Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody)

“Sherlock Jr.” – original music by Daniel Hart (Pete’s Dragon, The Old Man and the Gun) & Natalie Holt (Obi-Wan Kenobi, Loki)

“The Cure” – original music by Arturo Sandoval (The Mule, Richard Jewel)

Roger Ebert explained in an interview that the 1927 film Metropolis was “one of the great achievements of the silent era,” and that it “was a work so audacious in its vision and so angry in its message that it is, if anything, more powerful today than when it was made.”

Lane Roth of Film Quarterly called “Metropolis” a “seminal film” because of its concerns with the “profound impact technological progress has on man’s social and spiritual progress” and concluded that “ascendancy of artifact over nature is depicted not as liberating man, but as subjugating and corrupting him.”

A 2006 review of “Faust” in The New York Times called it “one of the most astonishing visual experiences the silent cinema has to offer.” When the film first came out in 1926, German critics disliked the adaptation, Gösta Ekman’s performance and it was a failure in the box office. Shinji Aoyama, a Japanese film director, considers “Faust” to be one of the greatest films of all time.
