BRENTWOOD—Actress and Oscar-winner, Diane Keaton, known for her roles in “Annie Hall” and “The Godfather” died on Saturday, October 11, PEOPLE first reported. The actress was 79.

TMZ reported that the Los Angeles Fire Department were called to Keaton’s Brentwood property shortly after 8 a.m. and she was taken via ambulance to a local hospital. No additional details or cause of death has been disclosed to the public.

Keaton grew to fame as a notable producer, actress and director in Hollywood. Keaton was born in Los Angeles, CA in January 1946. She got her start on Broadway in 1968 in “Hair.” That role later parlayed Keaton to a role in “Play It Again, Sam,” a production by director Woody Allen that earned the actress a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play.

Her breakout film role was in 1972’s “The Godfather” which she starred alongside Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, Talia Shire and James Caan. The drama went on to earn 10 Oscar nominations, winning three awards including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay. Keaton reprised her role in the 1974 sequel, “The Godfather Part II.”

In 1977, Keaton starred in the Woody Allen comedy, “Annie Hall” where she won the Academy Award for Best Actress. Other films Keaton starred in included, “Reds,” “Marvin’s Room,”  “Crimes of the Heart,” “Father of the Bride,” “Father of the Bride Part II,” “The First Wives Club,” “Something’s Gotta Give,” “The Family Stone,” “Morning Glory,” “Book Club” and “Book Club: The Next Chapter.”

Some of her co-stars throughout her illustrious career include Bette Midler, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Goldie Hawn, Warren Beatty, Jack Nicholson, Frances McDormand, Queen Latifah, Katie Holmes, Harrison Ford, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen. Keaton during her lifetime dated actor/director Woody Allen, Al Pacino and Warren Beatty. The actress never married, but adopted two children, Dexter, 29 and Duke 25 in her 50s.

Keaton was also nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for her work in “Marvin’s Room,” “Something’s Gotta Give” and “Reds.” She won two Golden Globes during her career, one for “Annie Hall” and another for “Something’s Gotta Give.” She was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 1995.

Keaton’s “The First Wives Club” co-star Bette Midler posted on Instagram:

“The brilliant, beautiful, extraordinary Diane Keaton has died. I cannot tell you how unbearably sad this makes me. She was hilarious, a complete original, and completely without guile, or any of the competitiveness one would have expected from such a star. What you saw was who she was…oh, la, lala!”

Actor Steve Martin responded to a post from Interview Magazine on Instagram writing:

“Don’t know who first posted this, but it sums up our delightful relationship with Diane.”

Director Paul Feig posted on X, “I was so honored to call Diane Keaton a friend. She was an amazingly kind and creative person who also just happened to be a Hollywood legend. She has been taken from us far too soon. We will miss you, Diane.”

LOS ANGELES—Our Congressional Representative, Brad Sherman (D) CA-32, has been in Washington, D.C. for 15-Terms, 30-Years. Do you know who he is? He is a living example of what you get when you live in a one-party state with no congressional term limits. He has been around forever and done nothing. No decision he has ever made in three decades has been seriously challenged by anyone. He has had to show no accountability…and he has made many unbelievably bad and costly decisions for us. And now, he has left us in a mess.

Sherman has learned how to “quietly” do nothing. He distances himself from controversy. He’s not a leader…He’s a follower. Not a thinker…A party “yes man.” He always shows up one day too late to act as if he’s helping, but instead, he awkwardly just stands there doing nothing with his goofy smile.

How much has he cost you personally? As a senior member of the House Financial Services Committee, Sherman has consistently led the fight to kill Bitcoin and all Cryptocurrencies. In fact, having so many financial institutions as supporters, he has advocated “outlawing” digital currencies. So, as it turns out, he has been on the wrong side of history for over 15 years. He has tried to stop the future. Bitcoin started trading in July of 2010 for $0.05 per coin. If you had bought just one Bitcoin, then or even in 2016 (just nine years ago) for $400 a coin it would be worth $124,005 today. So much for his negative rhetoric, hollow scare tactics, financial advice, and proposed killer legislation.

He chimed in with the Joe Biden and Kamala Harris LIE that the border was secure when in fact it wasn’t, and they knew it. He kept silent when Biden struggled mentally in his campaign. He claims to support Israel…sometimes. He continues to stall in leading a solution to the Metro Transit Project connecting the San Fernando Valley to LA’s West side. The endless delays have been bogged down by his accountant-due-diligence mentality instead of having an assertive vision with momentum to get it done.

As a career politician who has never earned more than $174,000 a year, he has a home in Los Angeles and a home in Washington, D.C. worth an estimated $14 Million dollars. How is that mathematically possible? Well, I said he was an accountant.

Regarding the Palisades and Malibu fires, I agree with real estate billionaire and former LA Mayoral candidate, Rick Caruso, who proclaims, “If it’s predictable it’s preventable.” Sherman and Mayor Karen Bass, both career politicians, don’t practice preventive governance, but instead, they rely on remedial governance.

Sherman claims and implies that Sherman Oaks and Sherman Way were named after him and his family. That’s simply a lie. Sherman Oaks and Sherman Way were named after General Moses Hazeltine Sherman (1853-1932). He was a land developer and entrepreneur from Vermont who came to California in the late 1800s and founded Sherman Oaks development. If Brad Sherman will lie about a town being named after him and his family, what else will he lie about?

It’s time for a change. My name is Larry Thompson, and I am running for United States Congress. This will be my second attempt to unseat Sherman. In the recent 2024 election, I received over 108,000 votes, which is the most votes ever received by a candidate running against him.

With your help, I plan to defeat him this time.

I am a Christian first. A Conservative second. A Republican third.

I am a member of Turning Point USA and Stand With Crypto . I am a compassionate, intelligent, experienced businessman who uses Common Sense. I am running for Congress to awaken, organize, and unite the dissatisfied Democratic voter, the canceled conservative voter, and the undecided No Party Preference voter. Visit: www.LarryThompsonForCongress.com

I have been endorsed by the California Republican Party, the Los Angeles County Republican Party, the Ventura County Republican Party, California Young Republicans, California College Republicans, Los Angeles County Young Republicans, the American Independent Party, Brock Pierce, Chairman of the Bitcoin Foundation, David Hernandez, Chairman of the Los Angeles Hispanic Republican Club, and Regional Vice Chair of CAGOP’s Los Angeles County, and Kelsey Grammer, among many others. Visit my 32-Point Political Vision at Larry Thompson For Congress – 32 Points

Democrats and Non-Party Preference voters, I believe I will earn all or most of the Republican votes, but I cannot win without your votes also. You have voted for Sherman for 30 years…! What about giving me a shot? My term would only be for two years. If I don’t do a better job than him, vote me out in 2028 and put him or another Democrat back in.

California’s District 32, where I am running against Sherman, encompasses at this time the communities of Bel-Air, Bell Canyon, Beverly Glen, Brentwood, Canoga Park, Chatsworth, Encino, Malibu, North Hills, Northridge, Pacific Palisades, Reseda, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Tarzana, Topanga, West Hills, Winnetka, and Woodland Hills. The district traditionally trends Democratic by a large margin of 70-30.

I know, it’s difficult to make a party change. Change isn’t just difficult. Sometimes, it feels impossible.

You know the feeling. You make a bold decision — to eat healthier, end a toxic relationship, move to a new city, leave that job, start that business, finally go after the life you keep pretending, you’re not afraid of. You start out strong, your heart full of conviction. But weeks—or even days—later, you find yourself back where you started, sabotaging your progress or convincing yourself it was never worth it anyway. And then comes the shame.

You wonder why everyone else seems to manage change so gracefully while you’re drowning in self-doubt. You ask yourself, “What’s wrong with me?” But the truth is: nothing is wrong with you. Change is not a straight path. It is a reckoning. A grief. A rebirth. A neurological, psychological, and emotional storm that stirs up every part of your identity. It’s not that you’re weak. It’s that you’re human.

American author, speaker, and pastor, Dr. John Maxwell, says, “When it comes to change, there are three seasons of timing: People change 1. when they hurt enough that they have to, 2. when they learn enough that they want to, and 3. when they receive enough that they are able to.”

Are you in any one of these three seasons?

Isn’t it time you tried something new to build a future for you and your children? Sometimes the person that brought you here isn’t the person you need to guide you forward.

Think about it. Vote for change. Vote for Larry Thompson for Congress.

BRENTWOOD—On September 5, California Governor Gavin Newsom, and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, announced that the California Highway Patrol (CHP) with assistance of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) will be providing Kamala Harris with the security detail she needs as she begins her 15-stop tour for her new book, “107 Days.”

On August 28, multiple news reports circulated that President Trump issued a memo that, “Stripped former Vice President, Kamala Harris, of her security detail just as she began her book tour.”

The truth is that sitting Vice Presidents are entitled to six-months of security detail. Prior to leaving office, former Vice President, Joe Biden, extended the time of her detail.

President Trump did revoke Harris’s security detail which reportedly goes into effect Monday, September 8. Her six months of protection by Secret Service would have typically ended in July. Former VP Harris received an extra two months of security protection.

Reports indicate that it was a trip to South Africa taken by Hunter and Ashley Biden with an 18-person security detail paid in full by the U.S. government.

The only government employees who are entitled to lifetime security are former Presidents and first ladies, and their children until they reach the age of 16.

The rule of lifetime security protection for former sitting Presidents was signed into law during the Obama Administration in 2013 reversing the previous law that allowed for 10 years of protection by the Secret Service.

Now, as a private citizen, the state of California has taken on Harris’s security detail.

In October of 2024, The Wall Street Journal reported that Harris is entitled to federal pension of $18,800. Annually based on her accrued time as Vice President and Senator.

In addition, former Vice Presidents benefit from lucrative book tours and public speaking engagements.

The following came directly from a November 4, 2024, issue of Forbes Magazine estimating former Vice President and Doug Emhoff’s financial worth.

“Thanks to her decades in government and wealthy husband, Kamala Harris has built up quite a nest egg, and she’s only gotten richer since becoming vice president.

Forbes estimates her net worth, along with gentleman Doug Emhoff, at about $8 million, up from $7 million in 2021. That’s roughly 20 times the median worth of Americans in the same age bracket.”

SANTA MONICA/BRENTWOOD—On Friday, January 24, the LADA announced more charges against individuals who committed crimes during the recent wildfires that plagued Southern California.

Two more individuals have been charged in connection with the ongoing wildfires — bringing the total number of individuals charged in fire-related cases to 25. The latest cases include felony charges of first-degree residential burglary and attempt to burn in Santa Monica and Brentwood.

Ivan Ruiz, 35, of Moreno Valley is charged with one count of felony first-degree residential burglary and one count of felony looting during an emergency or evacuation: 2nd degree burglary in case 25ARCF00131. It is further alleged that Ruiz carried out the offense with planning, sophistication, and professionalism within the California Rules of Court; has had prior convictions; and had served in prison and county jail.

On January 20, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Ruiz allegedly broke into a detached garage with living quarters above it in the 100 block of Mabery Road in Santa Monica. The property was located within an evacuation zone during a state of emergency, and Ruiz is accused of stealing items from the premises.

He pleaded not guilty during his arraignment January 22 and his preliminary hearing setting is scheduled for February 7, Dept. 31 of the Airport Courthouse. He is being held on $100,000 bail. BRENTWOOD—On Sunday, January 12, at approximately 4:40 a.m. Vice President Kamala Harris’s U.S. Secret Service detail and Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) deputies responded to a call of a burglary at the home of VP Harris, and Second-gentleman, Doug Emhoff. No one was at home at the time of the call.

Reports indicate that the two men dressed in all black were initially detained for being out after curfew in the evacuation zone of Pacific Palisades. They were then questioned by officers and released as there was no evidence of foul play.

Harris and Emhoff have several homes. The home in Brentwood is approximately 3,500 square feet. Zillow estimates the home’s value at $5 million.

Harris acquired her loft, which is a condo, in the South of Market area of San Francisco after she became Attorney General in 2004.

While in Washington D.C. the second couple has two homes. One is the same home located at the U.S. Naval Observatory on One Observatory Circle. This is the same home that most Vice Presidents have lived in since Walter Mondale in 1974.

The second home is a 1,700-square-foot apartment Harris secured during her first term in the U.S. Senate. This lush property includes a rooftop pool, full-time concierge, fitness center, and housekeeping.

Polling in CA-32 Shows Thompson (R) Gaining Fast

WOODLAND HILLS, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES—August 26, 2024 /EINPresswire.com/ — Rep. Brad Sherman (CA-32) has been in Congress for 14 terms (28 years). As a Democrat in a deep blue California district, he has had very little competition for almost three decades…until now. Out of the wild west, Larry Thompson, also known as “The Sanity Man,” has ridden into town claiming “this used to be Reagan Country and I’m running for Congress to take it back for him.”

Thompson’s call to arms has found serious traction among voters and is threatening Sherman’s stronghold.

California’s District 32 encompasses the communities of Bel-Air, Bell Canyon, Beverly Glen, Brentwood, Canoga Park, Chatsworth, Encino, Malibu, North Hills, Northridge, Pacific Palisades, Reseda, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Tarzana, Topanga, West Hills, Winnetka, and Woodland Hills. The district traditionally trends Democratic by a large margin of 70-30. Door-to-door campaign polling shows Thompson pulling up close to 50-50.

With national political fatigue, a divisive country full of hatred, fear of a World War, inflation, a local rise in Anti-Semitism, continued homelessness, increasing crime in the San Fernando Valley, disrespect for law and order and the police, and Bel-Air’s privacy being threatened by an underground rail to possibly be built connecting Ventura Boulevard to Westwood, voters are deciding to accept the need for change, and, instead of faithfully and blindly voting their party line, they are deciding to break ranks and simply vote their values. Thompson argues that he upholds those values and is ready to go to work to install or restore them.

Congressman Brad Sherman (D) was a no-show at the Warner Center Park Concert.

When asked yesterday at this year’s final Summer Concert at Warner Center Park in Woodland Hills why he thinks his campaign is doing so well, Thompson answered, “Well, I am running for Congress to awaken, organize, and unite the canceled conservative voter, the dissatisfied Democrat voter, and the undecided No Party Preference voter. I want them to no longer feel alone, defeated, and scared. I ask that they have courage, stand up, and join me and those who share their values and vision of our country. I want everyone to simply use Common Sense with Common Civility to find Common Ground to solve our Common Issues. Let’s start a new conversation to finally stop the fighting, regain our ‘Sanity,’ and get something done. Politics have become insane. I’m the ‘Sanity Man.'”

BRENTWOOD—On Friday, August 9, the LADA’s Office disclosed in a news release that Abraham Shily, 26, was charged with sexually and physically assaulting a mother as she was walking her one-month-old infant in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles on July 16.

MALIBU, July 29, 2024—”Brad Sherman should confess and apologize for living a lie,” demands Congressional candidate, Larry Thompson (R- Calif) at his sunset campaign rally in Malibu, CA, Sunday, July 28.

“Sherman continues to mislead and lie to people that beautiful Sherman Oaks, California is named after him and his family. That’s a lie. Sherman Oaks was founded in 1927 by wealthy land-developer General Moses Hazeltine Sherman. Neither Brad Sherman nor anyone in his family is a descendant of General Sherman. He has been lying or misleading citizens about Sherman Oaks being named after him and his family ever since the Democratic Convention in 1996 when he entered national politics, and no one has ever challenged him on his false claim… until now.

“If a man can brag and lie for 30 years about his name and a famous neighborhood in his political district being named after him, what else will he lie about? This long-term dishonesty really bothers me, and it should embarrass him. He should come clean and apologize immediately to the citizens of CA 32, especially those who live in Sherman Oaks or travel on Sherman Way.

“Lying for a long time to publicly elevate one’s importance slowly eats away at one’s character. Living a lie or allowing people who trust you to believe a lie about you blinds you to the truth about everything. Sherman’s 30-year disguise finally brings his morality and credibility into serious question.”

Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif) has been in office for 14 terms (28 years). California District 32 encompasses Bel-Air, Bell Canyon, Beverly Glen, Brentwood, Canoga Park, Chatsworth, Encino, Malibu, North Hills, Northridge, Pacific Palisades, Reseda, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Tarzana, Topanga, West Hills, Winnetka, and Woodland Hills.

“Confess Sherman and apologize,” demands Thompson.
